1. The clue’s in the name - we have a castle!

It doesn’t get more wow-factor than a castle! More and more couples are looking for a unique venue, one that stands out amongst the other wedding venues that they’ve attended as guests, and somewhere that will be a talking point amongst friends and family for years to come. Because all couples want to hear those blissful words from guests - “it was the best wedding we’ve ever been to!”

Well, Hedingham certainly ticks the wow-factor box. The 900-year-old Norman Castle is one of the best preserved of its kind in the country, and the magnificent Banqueting Hall where ceremonies take place, is completely breathtaking. With its huge double height archway and candlelit atmosphere, it is the most incredible space to say your vows in and never fails to impress guests.

2. Create your dream wedding

As a privately owned, family run venue, we are able to offer our couples a huge amount of flexibility when it comes to what you envisage for your big day. Our purpose is to make your wedding dreams come true! Our team of experts can work with you to create a completely bespoke experience, from musicians and band, to the flowers, arrival transport, reception drinks, wedding breakfast, and everything in between. We even helped one couple arrange a flyover to entertain guests after the ceremony! If you are looking to extend the celebrations and make it into a weekend-long catch up with friends and family, we can help with that too. Nothing is too much trouble.

3. No hidden costs

At Hedingham Castle, the price we quote for your wedding is as comprehensive as we can make it and we are completely upfront about all costs - we strongly believe in creating a relationship based on trust with our couples and would never hit you with any hidden costs further down the line. Depending on your package - for example, if you choose a venue hire fee only package, or an all-inclusive option - our fees are outlined clearly and include VAT. At your private viewing appointment, the wedding co-ordinator will explain clearly if any extra charges may apply, due to various choices you may make in the planning journey, and why.

4. The party atmosphere

The beauty of a Hedingham wedding is that all your guests are together for the entire day. No separate rooms for the bar, seating or dancefloor - everyone feels included in the party atmosphere. For example, those who want to sit and chat after dinner can happily do so, but with a clear view of the dancefloor so they don’t miss any of the evening fun. The flow of your day is hugely important to us and this really gives your wedding the most incredible energy.

5. The best of both worlds

Usually, ‘Castle’ and ‘Country House’ fall under individual venue types when you are searching for your dream wedding location. Not at Hedingham! You and your guests can enjoy a variety of stunning settings throughout the day - couples always comment on how much their guests enjoyed being surprised by the different areas and how it kept the party vibes going over the course of the celebrations. To give you an example, this is how your wedding day could flow across the various spaces throughout the day:

  • Guests start off in the Castle, firstly on the Garrison Floor for pre-ceremony refreshments and then up to the Banqueting Hall for the ceremony

  • After the ceremony, it’s over to the Tudor Bridge for confetti

  • Then the Wedding Party proceeds to the Mansion House, for reception drinks in the Hall and on the lawns with views over the lake

  • The wedding breakfast is next - everyone takes their seats in the Ballroom Marquee, then after dining the dance floor is revealed and the evening celebrations begin!

With so many elements to explore at Hedingham, we highly recommend booking a private viewing to come and experience the venue for yourselves. Please get in touch with the team to book your appointment - these are available Monday-Friday during office hours and Saturday mornings.
