Grounds Person (Full Time)
We are looking for an enthusiastic skilled person to help in the grounds of the Hedingham estate.
They must have experience in the following:
Lawn mowing with small and tractor pulled mowers
Strimming
Weeding
Hedge cutting and pruning
Identifying plant disease and problems
Basic machine maintenance
Be comfortable working with trees and forestry work
Capable of using large machines
Understanding personal risk assessments and environmental risks
We have a busy weddings and events business so event setup will also be part of the role as will the necessity to be able to do basic maintenance and cleaning.
You will join a small team of friendly, hard working people, all of whom enjoy the history and resonance of the castle, and have the necessary sense of humour needed as no two days are the same.

Historian Volunteers
Do you love history? Are you passionate about sharing your knowledge with others? Do you enjoy educating school children about their local history?
We are looking for Historian Volunteers to join our team! Our Historian Volunteers are essential for sharing our rich history with visitors and school groups. We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly individuals to be involved in education workshops for our school visits and history tours on general open days and on some event days.
What we’re looking for:
Individuals with a passion for history
Confident talking to groups, both adults and children
Able to climb stairs - due to the nature of the building, there are a lot of stairs inside the castle, as well as some mild hills involved when giving tours
Knowledge about Hedingham Castle’s history is not essential, as training will be provided.
