Step back in time this Easter and experience the drama and pageantry of medieval jousting at Hedingham Castle, as we kick off our first joust of the year!

Prepare for an unforgettable spectacle as the magnificent Knights of Middle England charge onto the Hedingham battleground, displaying breathtaking skill, courage and chivalry as they compete to be crowned champion.

Get hands-on with medieval life and try your hand at archery and axe throwing, learn how to fight like a knight and marvel at stunning birds of prey as they soar against the dramatic backdrop of the Norman Keep. With the Castle and grounds steeped in almost 900 years of history, there’s plenty to discover throughout the day.

When it’s time to refuel, enjoy a range of hot and cold fare from our food stalls, and browse artisan merchant stands for the perfect souvenir. A truly unique and action-packed day out for the whole family!

  • Two Jousts each day with the fantastic The Knights of Middle England

  • Birds of Prey displays with Eden Falconry

  • Knight School battles with Get Medieval

  • Medieval Village with craft demonstrations & Blacksmith Forge

  • Have a go at Archery & Axe Throwing

  • Traditional fairground games

  • Medieval music

  • Entry to all 4 floors of the Castle

  • Lots of lovely artisan & craft stalls

  • A selection of food trucks

    Gates open at 10am each day, with the first Joust starting at approximately midday and the second Joust starting at approximately 3pm.

    - A 1-adult family ticket includes 1 adult and up to 4 children under 17 years
    - A 2-adult family ticket includes 2 adults and up to 3 children under 17 years
    - Dogs are
    not permitted due to the presence of horses and birds of prey
