“Bring the Castle History to Life with Jane – Castle Historian”
“Costumed Talk with Graeme – Medieval Weapons Expert”
We offer a preliminary visit to teachers or group organisers booking a school visit. This will help you to familiarise yourself with the Castle, and then we can give you any other information that you may require.
We took a group of 82 KS1 children to Hedingham Castle for an educational visit linked to our Topic, ‘Turrets, Towers and Tunnels’. We had the whole grounds to ourselves which was fantastic. The children thoroughly enjoyed looking around the castle, especially the spiral staircase and finding out where the medieval toilets were! They listened to a talk by a medieval archer, who thoroughly engaged the children with information about what life was like living in a castle. The staff at Hedingham were brilliant too, not only on the day but on the lead up with the booking process too. I would definitely recommend Hedingham Castle for a school trip and will be taking my classes there again in the future.
