Schedule for the day: Gates open at 10. Jester at 10.45, Trebuchet at 11, Gunnery display at 11.30, Skirmish at 12, Falconry display at 12.30, Archery demonstration at 1, Jester’s show also at 1, another chance to see the trebuchet in action at 2, Men at Arms at 2.30, a different Falconry display at 3, the troops muster at 3.30 and the final Battle is at 4.
Throughout the day the castle will be open, and full of living history. There are donkey rides, maypole dancing, medieval musicians, craft stalls, food stalls, tours of the Castle and have-a-go archery.
And watch out for the roving Gravediggers!
