Hedingham Castle is situated in the village of Castle Hedingham, half a mile from the A1017 between Cambridge and Colchester.

M25, M11 exit 8 (A120 Colchester), take A120 to Braintree. Circle round the bypass following Sudbury signs. The castle is signposted from here. 1m out of Braintree on Sudbury road branch left on A1017 to Gosfield and The Hedinghams. In Sible Hedingham take right turning to Castle Hedingham and turn left to castle at top of village main street. Entrance gates 200 yards on right.

By Public Transport

Hedingham Castle is situated in the small village of Castle Hedingham
By Train
Braintree BR Station and Sudbury BR Station are the nearest to Castle Hedingham.
From London the easiest and most convenient way is to catch a train from London Liverpool Street to Braintree Station. There is a taxi rank outside the station and Hedingham Castle is approximately 20 minutes by car (sorry but we do not have taxi prices) It is also possible to get a train, again from London Liverpool Street, to Marks Tey, where you can change trains and travel to Sudbury Station. However, there is currently no taxi rank outside this station.
By Bus
There are two buses that run through the village of Castle Hedingham, (No. 5 and No.89) from both Braintree and Sudbury.
