Within easy reach – 60 miles – of London, the gardens and buildings of Hedingham Castle are unique. The keep contains the best preserved Norman interiors in Northern Europe with the Minstrels’ Gallery and Banqueting Hall being particularly atmospheric. The exterior has been largely unchanged over 900 years. The restoration of the interior of the Georgian Mansion House has preserved the original intentions of the architects, so that exterior shots of the House can be matched in period inside. Extensive cellars provide catacombs and late medieval interiors. The gardens combine classic formality with areas of woodland, and are fully enclosed. Catering, accommodation and all facilities can be provided on site.
