Calling all Classic Porsche enthusiasts

September 8th, 2010 by admin

If you want to witness the largest gathering of classic Porsche production cars then make sure you don’t miss the Porsche Classics at the Castle 2010 event which  will again take place at Hedingham Castle on Sunday 12th September 2010 with gates opening at 10.00 a.m.

Since the first wonderful turnout at the 2007 event ,this annual get-together, some twenty miles south of Cambridge, continues to endorse the growing strength in numbers of the UK classic Porsche community and Classics At The Castle has established itself as THE unique event for enthusiasts & owners of all Porsche model types built 1948-1973.

For first timers, and hopefully there will be some new faces amongst the event’s many friends and supporters, the meeting features the Porsche Classic model types built between 1950 and 1973. For the last three years we have welcomed a plethora of 356, 912, pre impact bumper 911′s, 914, 914/6 and 2.7 Carrera RS models as well as some competition cars from the same era.

There is, as always, exclusive parking for Pre 74 Porsches and dedicated parking for more modern Porsches BUT be advised you don’t have to come in a Porsche to be part of the experience.

We are proud to have Porsche Classic, from Porsche Germany coming over to display and Porsche AG supporting what is anticipated to be our best show ever. There will also be some surprise special guest appearances.

In addition there will be presentations by the UK’s premier Classic Porsche restoration shops and service providers displaying their wares and some work in progress along with some of their best customer restoration projects realised in recent  years.

We are hoping to convene the most comprehensive 2.7 Carrera RS line-up, in numbers, seen since Althorp ’97 along with chronological 356, and 911 displays. Plus plenty of space for 912, 914, 914/6 owners. There will be, as well as the prestigious Star Car presentations, a number of awards recognizing those cars which have caught the judges eyes.

As well as the normal food and beverage outlets Hedingham Castle have set aside a ‘Porsche Picnic’ area down by the Lake behind the house . A Jazz band will play and there will be 50 picnic rugs pegged out for you to enjoy the very special atmosphere in this peaceful area of the gardens. Hedingham Picnic Hampers packed with appetizing food and possibly a few ‘Porsche Goodies’ can be reserved and paid for prior to the event (see the ticket page at www.classicsatthecastle.com), with a reduced price.  If not all pre-sold they will also be on sale on the day but note that availability will be limited and will be on a first come, first served basis. In close proximity there will be a bar selling, Pimms, Champagne, wine and soft drinks.

The dedicated hotline number for pre-sales is as follows:  020 8875 8658.  Please note that this line is staffed from 9am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
