100′s of Plants Delivered

We have just received 100′s of plants up at Hedingham.
A multitude of Rhododendrons in many colours.
Roses, Lavender , Azaleas and many more, even a hydranger called ‘The Bride’ very appropriate for a wedding venue.
So many Thanks to John Woods Nurseries who donated all of them to us.

The Jousting championships at Hedingham Castle

Sunday 24th & Monday 25th May 10am – 5pm

 

Hedingham castle welcome the returning “ Knights of Arkley” this bank holiday as they give an entertaining and child friendly performance to the public, displaying many advance and complex cavalry skills. The Joust will test and challenge the four brave knight’s horsemanship and weaponry skills. Support your favourite Knight in his quest to impress the Royal Household. If you are lucky you may even get to fight a squire of the household.

 

Learn the history of medieval catering with a display from Falcon and Fetterlock, the lords cook and squire. Gordon the falconer will be fascinating all, displaying his Bird’s of Prey. The Norfolk Longbowmen will be on hand with “Have a go archery” to give you a chance to see first hand how to aim and fire an authentic bow and arrow. Come and learn how the resident rat catcher keeps away unwelcome guests.

The Hugh Rainey Band

Hedingham are pleased to be welcoming the famous Hugh Rainey Jazz Band to our World War II day on 26th July, come along and listen or even have a dance to this 1940′s time evocative music.

The Hedingham Waterfall

The formal water is now getting a waterfall, being built between the lake and the formal water it will allow the water to move down to the lower level during periods of higher rain, it will be decorated using mussel shells found in the dredging of the formal water. I will keep you posted when it is finished and get a picture on the website.

The Globe Returns to Hedingham

The Globe 27th & 28th July 2009

 

A summer delight, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is Shakespeare’s most wild and inventive comedy. The versatile troupe of actors will entertain outdoor crowds at Hedingham Castle with a stripped down version, true to the old principles of touring theatre.
