Thank you to everyone who came along to our wedding open day on Sunday 26th February. the sun was shining on the castle and the grounds looked stunning. We would like to thank our suppliers and staff for contributing to a magnificent showcase of Hedingham castle weddings, one of the most romantic venues in Essex. If you didn’t manage to come along then why not make a note in the diary for Wednesday 18th July when we have our wedding open evening.

On wednesday 21st February, the true story of Braveheart will be shown on channel 5 at 20:00. Scenes were filmed at Hedingham Castle last summer and we are looking forward to watching the result.
Promises to be a very good watch..other true stories in the series are True Grit, Saving Private Ryan, Apollo 13, Close encounters of a third kind and Master and Commander. Produced by BLINK Films

Yesterday saw the first of our Public Openings of 2012 to view the snow drops here at the castle. However the “snow had dropped” and we had to dig deep to find the flowered variety. Those that did brave the weather had a lovely walk around the grounds, which resembled a winter wonderland, then warmed themselves with a hot mulled wine, yummy!
Hopefully the weather will now clear ready for Thursday 9th Feb and  Sunday 12th Feb when we will be open again for you to come and see the Snow Drops.
